The temperature has definitely dropped a few –feels like a few hundred– degrees outside in the recent week, and its time to realise that we can’t escape winter any more! As nice as it would be to stay snuggled up by the fire, we can’t stay inside forever, so here are some tips to can help us brave the cold:
1. Wrap up with layers. Vests, t-shirts, jumpers, scarves, hats, gloves, woolly socks and coats create the perfect winter ensembles to keep us feeling warm and stop us catching a chill or getting under the weather!
2. Hot drinks are your new best friends. Grab a coffee en route or treat yourself to a hot chocolate to keep you cosy, either one is sure to warm you up from the inside out!
3. Keep moving. I know sometimes the cold doesn’t exactly motivate us to get very active but anything from a hoover around the home to a session at the gym will help to get that blood pumping around your body!
4. Blankets and hot water bottles. As it continues to get even colder, these simple necessities will seem like real life savers. Blankets on the sofa and a few extra blankets on the bed will help keep you toasty at night. Hot water bottles are a convenient way to speedily warm up frozen hands and feet as well as keep the rest of your body up to temperature throughout the evening. Just make sure that lid is done up tightly!
Hopefully with these tips it will be that little bit easier to get up and out this winter, while staying as warm as we can in the proccess.
