How important is it to be able to create a sensation that is not experienced directly from our senses? Is it important that we have an essentially escapist option to think beyond our personal experiences and should we use this to its full potential or can this be dangerous? Muhammad Ali suggests that we do not have the ability to expand and develop in our lives without the ability to imagine, but can it be harmful to imagine to a certain extent things that may be unreachable, and lead to a constant disappointment when we have to return to reality.
I for one totally agree that imagination is an important concept to experiment with throughout our lives. The ability to dream, picture future moments and plan what we may want to experience in our heads before it actually happens. What would we have to look forward to if we lived constantly in the ‘real’ and never looked past that. We need dreams, aspirations and inspiration to motivate us to move on and develop from our current situation, as surely life would be pretty boring if it stayed constant the whole way through.
